Recycling Troublemakers – What To Keep Out of Your Recycling Bin

We are always looking for ways to go green and reduce our impact on the environment around us. That’s why it’s so important that we reuse and recycle what we can.

Unfortunately, not all items can be recycled in your regular bin. In order to keep our recycle service running smoothly, you’ll want to keep these recycling trouble makers out of your carts!

  • Logs and Stumps
  • Plastic Bags
  • Styrofoam
  • Light Bulbs
  • Drinking Glasses
  • Motor Oil
  • Anti-Freeze
  • Paint
  • Clothes
  • Shoes
  • Pizza Boxes
  • Batteries
  • Tires
  • Rocks
  • Dirt

While we cannot accept these items with your regular pickup, there are other ways to reuse and recycle them!

One great way to reuse plastic shopping bags is as a bathroom garbage bag. Many supermarkets also accept plastic bags back at their store. You can also cut down on your use completely with reusable bags!

While we can’t accept clothing, shoes and drinking glasses, you may be able to donate them to a local thrift store. This is a great way to give back to the community, while reducing your overall environmental impact.

If you have any questions about what we do accept with our recycling or what date your scheduled pickup is, visit our website or give us a call at 203-334-1660. We are here to provide you with all of your garbage pickup and recycling service needs!
