What Can You Recycle In Your Bathroom?

recycling service trumbull ctWhen it comes to recycling – don’t overlook the bathroom!

Although we tend to focus on the kitchen when recycling, the bathroom is full of toiletries and packaging that can be placed in your bin, too. Make your home a little bit more eco-friendly by keeping these bathroom essentials out of the trash.

Your Bathroom Recycling List:

  • Shampoo and Body Wash Bottles – Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and other toiletries are usually made of #2 plastic. Check the packaging to be sure (it is usually located on the bottom, next to the recycling symbol).
  • Mouthwash Bottles – These clear plastic bottles are usually made from #1 plastic, or PET.  We accept #1 plastics with our regular recycling pickup!
  • Cardboard Packaging – You can also recycle the boxes that your cotton swabs and facial tissue boxes (not the tissues themselves, though).
  • Toilet Paper Rolls – Don’t forget to recycle the tube that your toilet paper and paper towels come on.
  • Hairspray Bottles – Empty aerosol cans like hairspray bottles can be recycled with your regular pickup.
  • Hair Gel Tubes – Check the recycling number on your hair gel tubes — they may qualify for regular pickup.
